Its founder, in fact, Captain Neil Mc Eacharn, spent part of his life searching for the ideal place to create his perfect garden: the one that would house all-around the botanical world.
He found Lake Maggiore to be the perfect place for his endeavor because of the climatic conditions and soil properties, and he even modified the morphology of the land to give light to the Villa Taranto Botanical Gardens, which since they were opened to the public have been one of Lake Maggiore's most famous destinations, known far beyond national borders.
